CAFFY Grant to Young People for Jumps
Young members of BRRA applied to a local charity for jumps so that they could run and take part in
cross country competitions near to home in Blaby. The Charity, Community Action Fund for Youth
(CAFFY) managed by Blaby District Council gave £500 towards the £1500 cost of the jumps. The
remainder was provided by the Management Committee of BRRA. The jumps were used for the first
time at the Eventer Trial held on 30th August at Blaby Mill Stables. The young people not only helped
to draw up the application for the Grant, but also helped to run a number of BRRA Clear Round
Jumping events and to prepare for the Eventer Trial. The jumps will be kept at Blaby Mill and owner
Linda Hudson said “The young people were very helpful in drawing up the application and they are to
be congratulated on their success. They have made a major contribution to the future of BRRA and I
hope that all our young people will benefit by taking part in future Cross Country events”. The
Treasurer of BRRA, Sue O’Connell said “We should like to thank the young people for their help and
CAFFY for awarding them the grant.”
